WGO Meetings and World Congresses


WGO will be organizing several upcoming major meetings in 2015, 2016 and 2017 in partnership with our member societies. The first of these events will be held in 2015 in Brisbane, Australia, in partnership with the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA), Gastro 2015: AGW/WGO International Congress, 28 September-2 October. In 2016, WGO will partner with our colleagues in the United Arab Emirates to convene Gastro 2016: EGHS/WGO International Congress, in November of that year (specific dates to be announced). And in 2017, WGO and the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) will partner The 2017 World Congress of Gastroenterology in association with The ACG Annual Scientific Meeting and Postgraduate Course, 13-18 October of that year. After 2017, the World Congress will move to a two-yearly schedule beginning with the meeting in 2019. A Call for Bids for the year 2019 will be initiated in early 2015. In addition, WGO welcomes indications of interest from our member societies to partner together to convene regional meetings. WGO Train the Trainers News

Cape Town, South Africa 2014!

In partnership with the South African Gastroenterological Society (SAGES), WGO is pleased to announce that the next TTT will be held in Cape Town from 31 August to 3 September 2014. Thank you to all member societies who nominated candidates for this workshop. WGO received many applications and encourages those who are not selected for this course to apply for the next TTT, which will be held in Taipei in April 2015. Stay tuned as further information regarding this workshop will be made soon!

WGO Member Society Information and Update Forms will be sent shortly! Member Societies will receive a WGO Member Society Information and Update Form to be filled out for 2014. The forms you will receive contain information about your society that we currently have in our database. Your assistance to ensure we have the most comprehensive and up-to-date information possible would be most appreciated. Please look over the Update Form carefully and make any changes or additions necessary before returning the form to membership@worldgastroenterology.org. Membership invoices are based on the information received in the Update Forms and staff will generate your society’s invoice promptly upon receiving your updated form. We strive to keep our database as current as possible so you can be certain important WGO news and information will be received promptly by the appropriate contacts within your member society. Your cooperation and expedient response are very much appreciated.
